What does your child learn at school each day? Find information about our curriculum subjects here.
Our curriculum for Years 1 to 6 is based on the National Curriculum for England published in 2014. Our curriculum is mapped out into cross-curricular themes although some aspects of the curriculum are taught as discrete subjects where there are no obvious links to other areas.
A copy of our Long Term Curriculum Plan for Years 1 to 6 can be found in the 'Documents' area of our website. Copies of topic plans are sent out to parents at the beginning of each term. These can be downloaded from each class page.
In Reception, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. This curriculum is also mapped out into topics where possible as we believe that children learn better when they can make links with other areas of learning.
For Religious Education, we follow the guidance from Warwickshire SACRE (Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education).
We use the 'Letters and Sounds' scheme as a basis for teaching phonics although this is supplemented by a variety of teaching materials including online resources.
We use Oxford Reading Tree plus other supplementary materials to support the teaching of reading. These include books for children to read at home and guided reading books for use in school.
